Barracks Trail - This is a 5.2 mile unpaved sandy trail that allows for views of Zion Park. Start at the Barracks, located one half mile south of the junction of Scenic Byways 9 and 89 in Mount Carmel Junction. Coral Pink Sand Dunes - Dune buggies, all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles rule at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Paddle type tires work the best on the soft sand of the dunes and all vehicles must be registered for on and off road use. This is a great place to come and let loose in the hills and hills of sand. Elephant Butte and Barracks Trails - Begin- the Elephant Butte Trail 4 miles south of the Coral Pink Sand Dunes entrance. After traveling 8 miles the trail approaches the turn off for the Barracks Trail. Follow the Barracks trail for 5.2 miles. This path leads to a remote area so be sure that your off terrain vehicle can safely make the trip. Lower tire pressures are recommended for the trail. Casto Canyon Trail - This 5.5 mile moderate to strenuous trail is open to hiking, horseback and off road vehicles. Distance: 5.5 miles. There are great views of the red rocks along this trail. Barney Cove Trail - This 1.9 mile moderate trail is open to hiking, biking, horses and ATV's. This trail is used primarily as a connector trail between the Casto Canyon and Fremont ATV trails. ATV Trails: Cedar Mountain - Snowmobile and ATV trails are abundant on Cedar Mountain along U-14.
