This versatile route allows hikers to do a long day hike, camp overnight or just hike
up from the canyon as far as desired and then return the way you came.  A permit
is required for hiking from Chamberlains Ranch or camping in the Zion Narrows. 
Hiking a few miles up stream from the end of the Riverside Walk Trail does not
require a permit.
