One of the World's Greatest Scenic Wonders: Although incredible, Cedar Breaks National Monument lies close to three magnificent National Parks and as a result it is often forgotten. Some say that “if Cedar Breaks were anywhere but in this region, it would be picked as one of the world’s greatest scenic wonders.” Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon are all just a short drive away.
Isolated and Beautiful:
Located on the west edge of the Marksagunt Plateau this remote area offers no nearby accommodations, so pack up a lunch when going to visit. Cedar Breaks. This Utah National Monument offers cool Summer temperature as an escape from the hot desert below, but due to the high elevation of 10,333 ft., snow results in closure during the cooler months of the year.
Cedar Breaks Scenic Rim Drive:
A 5 mile rim drive leads to the 4 view points in the Monument; Sunset View, Chessmen Ridge Overlook and North View. Meadows and a forest of Pines, Spruce and Quaking aspens adorn the monument. The amphitheater spans three miles across and 2,500 ft deep, the view is breathtaking in its magnificence.
